Morris Foster is one of the most successful cyclists to hail from Northern Ireland. He first raced a bike in 1955 at the age if 18, however the 1960s were the decade he made his own, with wins on the road, track, time trials and record attempts. Morris gained international honours, racing in the Commonwealth Games, the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Many of Morris’ records still stand over thirty years later and at one time he held all the place to place records in Ireland.
Morris retired from competition in 1972 and moved into cycling administration where he has managed Commonwealth Games squads, been President of the NICF and sits on the Commonwealth Games Committee.
