Hall of Fame

Tommy Jackson receiving the Hall of Fame Award from the Mayor of Newtownabbey (June 03 - June 04), Alderman Paul Girvan.
One of the all time soccer greats from Northern Ireland, Tommy played for Everton, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United during the 1970s. He won 35 caps for Northern Ireland between 1969 and 1977, and has the distinction of winning every honour in the local game both as a player and a manager. One of his greatest games was against Benfica in the European Cup where, before a crowd of 40,000, he played out of the game one of the worlds greatest players, Eusebio.
The competitive side of Tommy’s playing was mirrored in his approach to management with Waterford, Crusaders and Glentoran where he won the FAI Cup, Gold Cup and League Double.
