Victor has represented Northern Ireland and Ireland in many international and Pre-Olympic Judo events. He was awarded the Black Belt 1st Dan only eighteen months after taking up the sport and was a member of the Northern Ireland Judo team from 1970 – 1976.

His greatest achievements were holding the Northern Ireland Heavyweight Judo title for six consecutive years during this time, and winning the All-Ireland Heavyweight Judo title in 1975 and 1976.

In 1971 Victor qualified as a British Judo Association Club Coach and he established the Valley Leisure Centre Judo Club, still in operation today.
