Love My Park Scheme

<- Back to Parks

The Park Wardens at Newtownabbey Borough Council are working with people like you, members of the community to take action against vandalism and conserve our parks. They provide a reassuring presence in our parks through patrolling, they work with community groups to improve the parks, they help organise events and promote biodiversity.

You can help by joining the Love My Parks Scheme and volunteer to help us with local projects such as beach clean ups, planting, creating paths and generally getting your hands dirty to make a difference. The scheme also encourages everyone to be watchful and report problems directly to the wardens. Find out more by liking our Love My Park Facebook page!

You can also be a Park Watch volunteer and be the eyes and ears of our parks. This would suit if you live close to a park or visit most days. You would contact us to report any vandalism, damage, general maintenance reports and help us with ideas for improving the park.

By working with members of the community, the wardens will be able to take action against vandalism and anti social behaviour in the local parks. The aim is for the community to become more actively involved in their local park, for example they will take part in environmental projects such as tree and bulb planting to help improve the biodiversity in the area.
