The Newtownabbey stage of the Sun Newspaper Primary Schools 7-a-side finals took place at the University of Ulster at Jorandtown on Friday 13th June with Whitehouse Primary School winning the event.  IFA Frassroots development Officer Steven Livingstone said:

 

"The football on show on the day was of a high calibre and proves that the 7-a-side aspect is invaluable for developing quality players at this age.  The football on show was competitive yet played with the best spirit and I’d like to thank the schools for taking part.  I would also like to thank the UUJ and PSNI for their assistance for facilities and transport and the NBC for providing each player with a football and memento as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations”.

 

Whitehouse Primary School who went on the win the event, represented the Borough in the national finals on Wednesday 18th June.
