Newtownabbey Borough Council held the annual Mayor's Inaugural Dinner on Friday 14th September at Corr’s Corner Hotel. His Worship the Mayor, Alderman Nigel Hamilton, hosted the evening and was joined by key dignitaries at the event, including the Mayor of Gilbert, Arizona, local MP’s and Mayors from neighbouring council areas. Guests from all walks of life in the borough attended the prestigious event which was held in the Mulberry Suite at Corrs Corner. The dinner was the first event to be held in the new function room and the guests were very complimentary about the facilities at Corrs Corner.

Speaking at the event the Mayor commented:

“I have really enjoyed carrying out my duties as Mayor since I took up office in June. I will continue to undertake the duties of my office in representing all the people of this Borough to the best of my ability.”

The Mayor also took the opportunity to highlight the work of the three charities that he is supporting during his term of office: the Haemophiliac Society, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and Thornfield House School.
