Today sees the signing of an information sharing protocol by representatives of Newtownabbey Borough Council, the PSNI and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
The purpose of the protocol is to introduce and formalise service level agreement standards and to provide guidance on procedures and documentation necessary when requesting/providing information. This will help make information sharing among the three organisations more efficient and effective.
This initiative comes as part of an established liaison group to detect and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. Sharing relevant information will assist the Council to work closely with the PSNI and the Housing Executive in considering ways to address anti-social behaviour.
Garth Fenning of Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Environmental Services commented;
“Successive governments have aimed to promote interagency working to ensure effective service delivery and this liaison group is a good example of how local agencies can work together to deliver national strategies.”
