RESTORATION VILLAGE
BBC Two Television
1st September 2006

Over the years Northern Ireland (and in particular the Greater Belfast area) has lost many of its important buildings through apathy, neglect and even unscrupulous developers.

People have had enough of this ‘architectural vandalism’.

Now, one of Irelands oldest and historically important buildings, The White House, in Newtownabbey is at serious risk.  This old 16th - 17th century building, which is steeped in international history, has been chosen to represent Northern Ireland in the forthcomming series “Restoration Village” showing nationally on BBC 2 television.  The programme is on at 9pm every Friday and The White House will be featured on Friday 1st September.

We need your help by voting for The White House to save it from destruction.  We plan to use it as an Education and Information Centre towards promoting peace and reconciliation.  It is owned by The White House Preservation Trust, a non-political, non-sectarian organisation which has the unique distinction of being supported by all political parties in Northern Ireland.

We need your vote as a matter of urgency for our campaign.

You can also visit us on Saturday 2nd September between 10am and 5pm when the BBC Roadshow will be in attendance.  There will be exhibitions and side-shows for all the family and an opportunity to see The White House, in Whitehouse Park.
