As part of the Forgiveness Project, a talk on ‘Exploring Forgiveness in the Face of Atrocity’ will take place in Carrickfergus Museum and Civic Centre on Tuesday 2nd October at 7.00pm. Shad Ali, the Forgiveness Project and Alan McBride, WAVE Trauma Centre will be guest speakers at the event hosted by the Carrickfergus, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council Good Relations Officers.
In July 2008, Shad Ali came to the rescue of two Pakistani women who were being racially abused by a passing pedestrian with horrific consequences. Shad Ali will outline exactly what happened and his journey to forgiveness since then. Alan McBride tells of his journey after his wife and father–in–law were killed in a bomb attack, his thoughts on forgiveness and the assistance on offer to victims and survivors of the conflict.
Places for this unique event are limited and should be reserved in advance. Please contact Fiona Surgenor on 028 9335 8035 or email goodrelations@carrickfergus.org
