Hannah Martin enjoys the Mossley Mill Family Fun Day with her Mum Paula. This is just one of the Arts and Heritage events organised by Newtownabbey Borough Council this autumn.

Looking for something to do this autumn? Newtownabbey Borough Council has launched a range of seasonal arts and heritage workshops and events, guaranteed to help keep you busy from September through to December. Taking place at the Museum at the Mill and the Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl, these workshops and events offer a range of arts and heritage fun right on your doorstep.

Adults can enjoy talks and workshops on a range of activities including knitting, scrap booking, seasonal comfort food, drawing, ceramics, Christmas chutneys and gifts and lots more! There is also plenty to keep the kids entertained with fun workshops including a fast and exciting lesson in the real Morse code used on board the Titanic, Cowboys and Indians, Christmas crafts and a range of design days ideal for budding designers!

Whilst most of these events include a small fee, many of the workshops allow participants to take home their creations as a memento of their day. Free family fun days will also be taking place throughout the autumn months. A brochure can be downloaded at www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/arts or hard copies can be requested by emailing jcoulter@newtownabbey.gov.uk.

These events are thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. For more information visit www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/events.
