The Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman Victor Robinson officially opened Mackey Opticians in Carnmoney Village in Glengormley on 24 August, bringing a vital service to the people of the area.
This new branch, which is the first franchise of its kind in Northern Ireland, is an exciting opportunity for Northern Ireland independent opticians Mackeys.
Business owners and husband and wife team Michael and Caroline Allen commented:
“Our aim is to provide our local community with the highest quality eye care and customer service, but as part of a larger group we can still be very competitive on price. We are keen to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye exams, especially in children, the elderly and visual display users, such as those who work on computers.”
The new branch offers a wide range of services to the people of Newtownabbey including free eye exams for children and people on benefits, free contact lens trials and home visits to the housebound. For those who need help with their eyesight, a range of offers are available including two pairs of glasses from £58.50.
Speaking about the visit Alderman Robinson commented:
“It is always a pleasure to welcome a new business to the Borough especially a family run business owned by local residents and I wish Michael and Caroline every success. I hope their commitment to the local area along with their promise to provide high professional standards, an unhurried and friendly service, real value and greater choice pays dividends for their customers and them alike.“
