A Fine Art & Antiques Fair is being held at Sentry Hill, Newtownabbey as part of the Council’s Jubilee celebrations. This promises to be a relaxing day out with a wide variety of stalls to browse through in the beautiful setting of the garden at Sentry Hill. All items will be available for purchase.
Sentry Hill is a 19th century farmhouse with a fascinating family history. The house and its contents provide a rare insight into life in rural Ulster during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The contents have remained almost complete, particularly the remarkable collection of William Fee McKinney (1832 – 1917) which includes furniture, paintings, photographs, ceramics and an extensive collection of books, diaries and records of various local organizations. The collection is extraordinary in its range, quality and its very survival.
Professional valuations of antiques and collectables will be available from 2pm – 4pm. Maximum 3 items (£2 per item). All proceeds will be donated to the Mayor’s Charities.
A traditional tearoom will provide refreshments throughout the day and a BBQ will be available from 12.30pm. Charge applies to BBQ. General admission is free and the event will run 11am – 5pm.
Tours of Sentry Hill Historic House will take place as normal (charge applies).
