As part of his business visits, the Mayor, Alderman Billy Webb met with the owner and staff of a recently opened café and sandwich bar in Monkstown.

Coasters Good Food Café opened in Monkstown Village Centre in January 2012.  It is a family owned business endeavouring to provide top quality products and services at affordable prices.  The varied menu includes freshly made sandwiches, soups, stews and salads using only the finest ingredients.  All meat is sourced from a local butcher and cooked daily on site to ensure taste and freshness.

Owner Marnie Scott commented:

“We combine good quality products with secret home recipes to provide a unique taste experience.  Unusually for fast food, some products have a very low calorific content giving a healthy but tasty alternative.  Make sure to pick up a customer loyalty card, get it stamped and you will get a free sandwich and hot drink!”

The Mayor, Alderman Billy Webb added:

“Even before you walk through the door of this lovely little café, the smell of home roasted beef greets you and makes your mouth water.  It is wonderful to see such dedication in our business community to providing top quality products and services.  I wish the business well and hope that the dedication shown ensures repeat custom and a bustling business”.

The Mayor will be continuing his visits to small businesses over the next few weeks.  If you would like to host a Mayoral visit or for information on the Council’s economic development activities, please phone Michelle Pearson on 028 9034 0018 or email mpearson@newtownabbey.gov.uk.
