Have you noticed a familiar logo round about the Borough?  Chain Reaction Cycles, the world's largest online bike store and one of Newtownabbey’s biggest employers is giving Newtownabbey another boost by supporting the Council’s roundabout scheme. This enables the Council to smarten up the roundabouts in the borough making sure that Newtownabbey stands out for both residents and visitors.

The Mayor, Alderman Billy Webb commented,

“Our roundabouts in Newtownabbey, many of which boast some unique public art and floral sculptures have large amounts of motorists passing daily and provide prime locations for advertising. Chain Reaction Cycles have sponsored six  roundabouts throughout the Borough and I am delighted that they and other partners have the foresight to join the Council in this scheme.”

Simon Cordner, PR Manager at Chain Reaction Cycles added,

“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to work with Newtownabbey Borough Council by sponsoring the roundabouts and being able to assist our local community.”

Chain Reaction Cycles opened in 1984 in Ballynure as a family run bike shop. Following continued expansion, the company now employs over 600 people, shipping over 45,000 orders per week to 120+ countries. In 2011, the company was voted one of ‘Britain’s Best Loved Digital Brands ’, awarded a Queens Award for International Trade, ranked 14th in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 100 and 67th in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 and most recently, receiving the Hitwise award for ‘UK’s most visited Sports-Cycling website’.
