(L-R) Spring Chickens Peggy McDonald and Marie Finlay get ready for their production 'Crazy Little Thing'.

Now in its 25th year, Big Telly is delighted to have been in partnership with Newtownabbey Borough Council and working with groups throughout the Borough to professionally create and produce ‘Crazy Little Thing’. The production which will take to the stage this Saturday 12 May in the Courtyard Theatre, is part of Big Telly’s Spring Chickens programme and will celebrate the talents and achievements of local 50+ groups. Performers from the Breakaway Blues, CLASP, Bryan’s House and Drumcor Court will show off their talents after having been a part of this innovative creative arts project which focuses on increasing creative expression and engagement among older people throughout Northern Ireland.

Speaking at rehearsals, Claire Fox, Good relations Officer for the Council commented:

“This Spring Chickens project is a great way for those involved to show the value they can provide to younger generations and also help them share their experiences of a changing Northern Ireland. ‘Crazy Little Thing’ will showcase the talents of local older people in Newtownabbey and is sure to be a great nigh’ts entertainment!”

Tickets for the show are free and are available by contacting Jean Shortt at Mossley Mill, jshortt@newtownabbey.gov.uk or 028 9034 0017.
