The Mayor of Newtownabbey Alderman Billy Webb continued his business visits today, meeting James McKay, Manager of Logwood Plant Centre Ltd.

Logwood Plant Centre has been established on the Logwood Road in Ballyclare for over six years.  The garden centre also houses a gift shop and a coffee shop and provides everything from compost, pots and plants to furniture, gifts, tools and aquatic products.

Manager James commented:

“Since Logwood Plant Centre opened under new management in March 2006, it has become one of the leading garden centres in the area. With one of the most extensive ranges of Plants, Trees and Shrubs it is one of the leading plant retailers in Co. Antrim. We pride ourselves on good customer service and we believe if we do not have what you are looking for, we will do our best to get it for you. This is just another way of ensuring you leave our garden centre feeling that you have received the service you deserve.”

The Mayor, Alderman Billy Webb added:

“This is a wonderful example of a family run business making use of new communication tools like Facebook and Twitter to promote their business and giving back to the community through their work with the local schools.”

The Mayor will be continuing his visits to small businesses over the next few weeks.  If you would like to host a Mayoral visit or for information on the Council’s economic development activities, please phone Michelle Pearson on 028 9034 0018 or email mpearson@newtownabbey.gov.uk.
