To kick start the Newtownabbey Food and Drink Network in 2006, Glengormley Park is again playing host to a traditional French Country Market with over 25 stalls catering for all tastes from, cheeses, meats and olives to handbags, soaps and even jewellery from Paris. This will start at 9am on Friday 16th June and will run on Friday Saturday and Sunday until 6pm, entry is free and all are welcome
Deborah Noc, commercial director of “French Events” said, “Having been to Newtownabbey last year, we know everyone is very welcoming. The stall holders were very pleased with the turn out last year and extremely grateful for the kind hospitality shown towards them as we filled every B&B in town. We really enjoyed meeting the residents and visitors of Newtownabbey. Everybody who visited the stalls was excited about what was on offer and we are delighted to be back again”.
The Restaurants bars and cafes that make up the Newtownabbey Food and Drink Network are equally delighted to be promoting themselves again this summer. With over 20 businesses participating throughout Newtownabbey and dozens of menus to choose from what could be easier. There’s everything from Chinese to Italian, from Indian to American and not forgetting traditional wholesome Irish dishes. If it’s a snack you’re after we’ve got them too, from fresh fruit smoothies and spectacular salads to mouthwatering sandwiches made to order. You don’t even have to deprive yourself of a beloved take-away with many offering new lighter alternatives! if you’re still hungry for more, keep a look out for that red logo and find out what delicacies you can enjoy next time around!
The Newtownabbey Food and Drink Network is operated by The Newtownabbey Town Centre Management Company. The Town Centre Management Company is a joint venture between Newtownabbey Borough Council and the Ballyclare Chamber of Trade and the Glengormley Chamber of Commerce. The company is funded by Newtownabbey Borough Council and the EU Building Sustainable Prosperity Programme.
