The Mayor, Alderman Ted Turkington is hosting his charity golf day at Ballyclare Golf Club on Friday 22 April. This year's event will raise funds for the Mayor's three charities: the Alzheimer's Society, The Ballyclare Division of the St John's Ambulance and The Martin Residential Trust.
The annual golf day is always well supported by local businesses and organisations and is one of the major fundraising events held each year for the Mayor's charities. The main sponsor for the event is Houston and Thornton and many other local businesses are expected to sponsor individual holes and to provide help in kind for the event.
Speaking at the launch of the event the Mayor, Alderman Ted Turkington commented:
"The golf day is always a great fun day out and the event has raised lots of money in recent years for really worthwhile causes. This year's event is a little earlier in the golfing calendar than in previous years but I am hoping for the usual good turnout. With any luck the fundraising I am doing for the three charities will get a real boost."
Information about the Charity Golf Day will be mailed out soon to those who have taken part in previous years.
