Living Stones

An Exhibition by Laura Butler

Thursday 20 March 2014 - Saturday 19 April 2014

Laura's paintings depict landscapes and interiors where strong themes of absence and presence abound, predominantly set in the Irish, and more specifically, County Antrim countryside. The sense of exuberance in her work is created through brightness of tones and freedom of painting style.

'I have always been drawn to places where the presence of people can be sensed, whether they be current occupants or the long departed spirits of the past. My artwork centres on recognition of the relationship between people and the landscape; the way in which patterns of life become recored with the environmnent alongside natural processes.'

Laura's works are held within private collections in Ireland, England, the USA and Australia. In 2010 she was selected as the solo artist for the Kansas Irish Festival and in 2011 she displayed in the Jam Art Gallery in the Guinness Quarter, Dublin.

Her artwork is on display online at www.NewIrishArt.com/LauraButler.
