Arts Grants (Individuals)
We will consider applications for grant aid from individuals to assist in their personal development, as long as they meet the stated criteria and objectives of our Arts Policy.
Who Can Apply
- Individuals who demonstrate excellence in their chosen art form, supported by independent accredited evidence.
- We will consider approved short training and study courses, if they will develop individual expertise or promote the arts within the community. You must demonstrate how this training or course will benefit either your personal development or the community.
- Individuals who organise nonprofit-making courses or classes which will extend or develop the arts within the community.
Note: You may have to attend a short formal interview.
Conditions
- As an applicant, you must live in the Newtownabbey Borough Council area.
- Where appropriate, we need to see evidence that you have sought funding from other sources.
- We will only award one grant to an individual in each financial year (1 April to 31 March).
- We will only accept applications on our official application forms, which you can get from the Arts Development Officer at the address in the pink column at the right of this page or by downloading the PDF version which you can print out and return to us when completed.
- We will consider incomplete or illegible forms to be ineligible and return them to you.
- Your application must be for a nonprofit- making purpose.
- You must use all funding from us for the purpose stated on your application. Where this is not the case, we will request full repayment.
- How much grant aid we offer will depend on the funding we have available, and the recommendation made to us by the Arts Advisory Committee.
- Our support should be acknowledged in all publicity material relating to the event.
- Grants will not be given for items of personal clothing or equipment.
General Information
- We will acknowledge all applications for grant aid, in writing, within 10 working days of receipt.
- We may defer applications if we need further information.
- We will not consider a claim that your application was lost or delayed in the post, unless you have proof of posting.
- If your application is unsuccessful, you may contact the Arts Development Officer to find out why.
