Noise disturbance can arise from a variety of sources including domestic premises (barking dogs, loud music etc) or commercial/industrial premises (pubs, clubs, factories etc).

The Pollution Control Section investigates several hundred complaints of noise disturbance each year and, although most are resolved informally, many require a significant period of monitoring and on occasion are resolved only through formal/legal action.
