A system to control emissions from specific types of industrial processes was introduced under the provisions of the Industrial Pollution Control (NI) Order 1997. District Councils are required to authorise and regulate emissions to air from “Part C” Processes.

Details of the application are required to be advertised in the local press and a copy is held on a public register maintained at the Council offices.

Regular inspections are carried out (normally twice per year).
