Newtownabbey Borough Council recognises the impact on global climate from carbon dioxide emissions arising from our energy related activities. The Council recognises the need to reduce its carbon dioxide emission levels in line with Northern Ireland energy and climate change targets. The Council aims to promote the importance of good energy management for the economic and environmental well-being of its residents, employees and business community.

 

 

Bryson Energy Is The Energy Agency For Northern Ireland

From Monday 2nd April 2012, a new advice number offering free and impartial local energy advice became available for householders across Northern Ireland. The new number is free phone 0800 1422 865.

South Antrim Rural Network (SARN)

SARN provides community development support to rural communities within the council boroughs of Antrim, Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus. SARN does this by determining and responding to the key issues impacting on the lives of rural people, and rolling out programmes as an action on anti-poverty.

Cold Reality For Poorest Households

The Northern Ireland Assembly has been told that a growing number of households have no choice but to purchase 20 litre drums of oil that are significantly more expensive per litre than buying in bulk.

Oil Stamp Winners!

The winner of the oil stamp competition at Glengormley Health Fair on Saturday 22 October 2012 was Helen Horner from Abbots Drive who won £25 of oil stamps and the winner from the oil stamp competition held at Kilbride Luncheon Group on 21 October 2012 was Faye Robinson from Mill Road, Ballyclare who also won £25 of oil stamps.

The winner of the Oil Stamp Competition at the Ollardale Fun Day on Saturday 8th September was John Carlisle from Charles Drive, Ballyclare.

 

Glengormley Methodist Health Fair on 22nd Sept

Council staff will be at the Glengormley Methodist Health Fair on Saturday 22nd September from 10.00am- 12.00pm to give advice on energy efficiency, home accident prevention, the Oil Stamp Saving Scheme and available home energy efficiency grants.
