Notes:
South Antrim Rural Network (SARN) is a support organisation for Rural Community Groups across the South Antrim area. SARN will work with the community groups across the Borough Councils of Antrim, Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey and the rural area of Lisburn.
SARN provides a strategic link between local rural communities and government, facilitating community input into and influencing of rural policy development. SARN also provides for the role of honest broker and facilitator in terms of networking, partnership development and actioning support for local community work.
SARN is funded by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Public Health Agency.
Facilities:
Training Opportunities/Capacity Building Programmes/Information and signposting. Assistance with funding applications, project planning and management. Facilitation of community audits and action plans. Newsletter/Access to Resources/ Networking Events/ Study/Exchange Visits. A stronger voice in policy development.
