Arts Bursaries
Newtownabbey Borough Council is offering bursaries to both professional artists and practitioners.
For the professional artist wishing to complete a piece of work we offer a two week period in the tranquil surroundings of the Tyrone Gutehrie Centre.
For the general arts practitioner or those with an interest in the arts, literature and debate, we offer bursaries to the one week John Hewitt International Summer School.
John Hewitt International Summer School 2007
The Hewitt Society invites all with an interest in literature, the arts, civic society, the past and/or future to participate.
Applications are invited from interested people who were born or who are permanently resident in Newtownabbey.

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Newbliss County Monaghan
Bursaries are open to practitioners in all the art forms born or domiciled within Newtownabbey. Applicants should be able to show significant achievement in their chosen field and demonstrate a high degree of promise attested by references or other form of support from an established figure in the arts.
Each application must be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae and a reasonable sample of the artist's work. Applicants should state clearly what they wish to accomplish during their stay at Annaghmakerring.
This project outline is the deciding factor and should demonstrate that the artist is working towards an exhibition, publication or performance which will be helped by a stay at the centre.
